Three Colorado Springs growers are raising clones from my 419 pounder from last year, one of the three growers is what I consider to be serious. The two that are not, are still getting excellent results! all the clones started out with small leaves and puny stems, unlike the original it started from, due to a long winter under just florecent lights and small pots. They all are reverting back to the original characteristics after establishing a root system, and getting time to grow under normal environmental conditions.

Cloning is a way to take the fun out of this hobby when you use a seed it's like alottery to see who the gets the best pumpkin. also mite want to inquire about cloning before entering any weighoffs

Big E: Seed stock growing is the best method, I don't disagree with you. The clones that others are growing is an experiment thing. You wouldn't actually disagree that if a new method to keep a good seed stock alive for breeding was found to be viable and useful, that you would actually NOT be interested in such a method? Come on... I am not growing any of my clones, but MANY, MANY serious growers have encouraged me over the winter to keep them alive, and find a way to grow them, as they wish to see what variations, if any, happen once they re-enter the outside and start growing again. I have always been one to try to better myself by keeping an open mind, and although I like to use seed myself, I owe it to all the growers out there to contine this important reserch this season. I only hope one day you realize that what you might think is wrong, isn't as important than contributing the effort, which may possibly help out others in the long run.
