I'm not a great grower. But, of my eight plants growing the 933 Pugh and the 620 Boyton have been the most heat/humidity tolerant. At 94 F and 80%+ humidity no signs of wilting for these two plants. Although, for the past two weeks it has been almost total rain, wind and clouds. Plants have grown tremendously so when we see the sun again and the temps rise again, I wonder what will happen?...Tom

I must continue to plug the 568 Andrews. This is the most favorable plant I have ever seen. Does not go limp in heat, grows incredibly thick vines. Secondaries and tertiaries get thick before getting long, which makes pruning a breeze. All plant material is a dark green...not a streak of yellow in it. This means all the tissue is photosynthesizing, producing valuble sugars for the fruit. And it is a vigor cross in my book. It all adds up to an allstar plant for me.

My knee-jerk response would be the Bobier 845 I'm growing this year, BUT the 771 Stellpflug & Hester 895.5 at my other plot is amazing. The plants have went underwater 3 times, been uprooted by winds & they continue to bounce back from each setback. 3 days ago the Hester plant flooded out so bad that all vines that were buried floated to the top. The following 2 days the main continued to grow about 6" a day & today it shot out 18" on the main vine.

The 350 Sadowski and 731 Stucker have been excellent. No wilting; huge, green leaves; thick and thicker stump, mains, and secondaries; bugs don't like 'em; and very symetrical. They've been a breeze and joy to grow...hope the punkins' match the plants.

Here, in the dry and warm Spanish summer, the only plant I can defenetely call heat resistant is the 950.4 Boyton (845 self).

My 907.5 Gibson is growing faster than my other two plants. It is 20 ft. out from the stump with a very thick main. Have ended 4 secondaries at 14 ft. I have pollinated 5 pumpkins in the last 6 days, 2 on the main and 3 on secondaries. Will pollinate 1 more on the main and then wait to see who is the best candidate for the weight-off. Heat has not been a problem up here(2-hr north of Toronto Ontario), just a few days above 90 degrees, but today it is only going to reach a high of 65 -70. BURRRRRRR

I agree with Southern, my 731 Stucker has been outstanding. Far superior to my 920 Cole and 867 Mombert which were both culled. The decision was easy.

Clark 209 is a huge plant. 800 sq. feet. one 68" fruit and 4 basketball size. 537 Hildebrand likewise size plant with a 52" pumpkin. 618 Derosiers has huge leaves and a 54" fruit plus several smaller ones. all big fruit are gaining over 4" per day in circumference. my biggest gainer is the 728 Roulst. it was a slow starter plantwise, but is growing in leaps and bounds now. one fruit started 3 days ago is already 18".
