Have heard different ideas on which pumpkins to cull. Number of lobes. One I heard was at 14 days from pollination the pumpkin should be 30". On this was wondering 30" in Cir. or over the top method? Just wondering how you all go about this?

you want to keep your fasting growing pumpkin(s) ... cull the others. If things are equal then you can talk lobes. Some people like more lobes ... i don't think it makes a differece. 14 days 30 inches is circ. the following is from Al Eaton: "{Day 10--20" circumference Day 20--60" " Day 30--100" and a bit more for a good rate I believe if they grow much faster or slower than shown above the October results will not be good. Of course different climates may cause different growth rates. The above numbers are from eastern Ontario.}" but you can only do as good as you can. If you don't get that growth then you go with what you do have.

your pumpkin grow to fast and will blow up from internal stresses. The inside grows faster than the outside.
