Does removing male/female blossoms at a certain point help to send more energy to the desired growing pumpkins?
If so, then can someone, more experienced than I, please give some advice on this subject.

Thanks everyone,

Hi Judi, When you decide which pumpkin you want to keep then it is time to remove all the other smaller pumpkins or you could have a patch with over 20 pumpkins in it. With only one pumpkin in your patch all the energy of the plant will go to that pumpkin.
It is also a good Idea to remove all blossoms that you will not be using to prevent Bugs fron laying there eggs in the blossoms. Water = John

I would add one thing to what John said.......Your goal should be to have one pumpkin on each primary vine of the plant. If you have 3 primary vines on your plant, you can have three pumpkins.

Thanks for the quick replies, I just was wondering when to start this, My main vine pumpkin aborted last week, the back door main vine is where my one good set that is growing sets. I will try for at least one more on the other back door main, and hope to get at least two pumpkins. So...my question is - should I begin to cut off the females on the vine where my "one" good one is? Then after deciding on the second pumpkin in about one week to begin removing m/f blossoms everywhere else?

Thanks all :}

I pollinate everything and wait to make choices about which to keep until the last week in July. The last thing you want to do is remove females from your main and then have your best one abort leaving you with a pumpkinless main vine.

Hi again, I agree with Ken about leaving all the pumpkins until the end of july. I guess I just forgot that part.
