curious about using neptune's seaweed/fish fertilizer
around the time of fruit setting. is it best to lay off
it 2 weeks prior to fruit setting, one week, or safe to use
through the post set to avoid possibilities of aborts?

i am going to lay off other fertilzers about 10 days
prior to set time and 10 days after, but am not sure if
the neptune's should also be avoided in that time frame too?
any advice is appreciated greatly.

we use seaweed during blossom set and see no problem. Calcium seems to be the important nutrient for prevention of aborts. They sell a calcium spray at most stores for aiding in bloom set for tomatoes and peppers.

according to the Don Langevin book, volume 2, as soon as you get some normal male flowers developing, you might wanna switch to a balanced fertilizer, such as 10-10-10, or possibly the standard 15-30-15, as an aid in blooming and
pollination processes---i think, but i don't know for sure at all, these are just my opinions at work, that suddenly disrupting fertilization at any point might cause stress to the plant---seek advice from others, maybe right here will be more answers---and, i believe the seaweed
(under 'dandelion', see 'weed') lol, has such a low percentage of major elements N,P,K that you can probably use it all the time however you have been---once a week is a given---and, good luck to you with those Boyton
monsters-to-be!!!!!! 'pal

A switch in foliage feeding from 10-8-8 to 9-18-9 is what my program calls for pre bloom. After set of fruit its back to 10-8-8 for about six more weeks. August advises 2-12-12 up to three weeks before harvest. Last three weeks 24% Potassium Carbonate derived from seaweed. No let down on feeding just modest changes.
