I'm growing for the first year under temperd glass (normally I use plastic)...and my plants for some reason seem to be healthy but growing rather slow...(even considering the cool spring:(. Is this a poor choice for a hothouse covering? Thanks in advance.

Can't speak for your area but the rest of us in the North East are considerably below the normal sun we see and also below average low temperatures. Not good growing situations for pumpkins.

Are you meaning just tempered glass or Low-E Glass. If it's Low-E glass, it blocks out the suns rays. Does the glass have a coating on it where it's not crystal clear?

No, no coating. It's pretty clear.

if low -e glass is placed out of vertical like on the side of your house it will deflect some of the light spectrum that helps your plant grow and keep the soil from warming up as fast if the glass is tempered those effects don't come into play i did sort of an experiment on 2 different cold frames using a thermal window (2 panes of glass with a dead air space possibly filled with an inert gas between them ) and a low e window of simular make up and found the soil temp to be almost 10 degrees cooler under the low e glass plus the air temp came up quicker under the themal glass which could be a bad thing if you forget to open the frame up to allow air circulation
