I know that you cut of the secondary that is next to you female blossum, but bo you need to cut off the leaf?

You may not have to cut off the leaf right away as it aids as shade for the pumpkin when it is little. I usually will not cut the leaf off until it gets in the way. Usually when the pumpkin is big enough that it is almost touching the rugged stem of the leaf. Don't let it touch...it scratches the soft skin of the young pumpkin. It is really up to you when you cut it off....most growers do cut them eventually.
