Found two adult borers in my Connecticut patch tonight. Squashed one of them, the other got away.
Is there any better feeling than spraying a cuc beetle directly!??!

It's kind of a tie; I get a good feeling when I hundreds of them dead the day after spraying. :)

I get an equally fine feeling swatting the adult borer moth off a leaf with a fly swatter (perhaps I should call it a moth swatter)and stomping on a squash bug. Although, I have not perfected getting the moth without destroying my leaf yet.

I saw the first Nebraska adult SVB in the home garden today. I agree there is a great deal of satisfaction in smacking them with a flyswatter. dave

Well, I just found 4 eggs on a trimmed sidevine today...and caught one of the little Bas&^%$$s. Its in a jar next to me as I type.I give it a little shake once in a while to maintain the concussion. A slow painfull death for this vile creature.

Check out my last few diary entries to see a picture of some squash vine borer eggs. I seem to be loaded with them this year.
