I have a plant that started out with yellow spots on the leaves, and now the new growth of the vine is wrinkling badly. I've watered it everyday, firtlized about every four days, the other plants are doing allright (2 others) This plant is talking to me now in desperation. He wants to know if there's anybody out there that can help?

HI JOHN. I,m no expert but i have over watered and over fertilized before. over watering turns leafs yellow ( not enough oxygen getting to the roots )a rule of thumb i go by is if its not wilting it doesant need water. Not to say let it wilt but maybe cut back on the watering a little. I water every 4 days or so when plants are little. It also depends on your soil type?.fertilizing i,ve over fert. before it stunts the leafs and wrinkles them.Again how much you fertilize depends on whats in your soil if you use lots of manure you probaly don,t need to fertilize too much when plants are small.I use lots of manure so i only fertilize every two weeks when plants are small. By small i mean under 40 leafs on the plant. You might want to drench the soil to try to leach out some of the fertilizer and leave the plant alone for a couple of weeks or until you see an improvement.Again im no pro. but i have had yellow spots before and runted plants with wrinkled leafs and i called the guys that have been growing these plants for a lot of yrs. and thats the advice thay gave me.Good luck John G.

Thanks for the informaton. It's probably from over fertilizing. That mound and the one next to it, have just a little more (special ingredients) than the last mound. I hope it doesn't kill it. I will keep an eye on it and start to drench the soil today. It looks like the weather may help (it's raining). Again thanks for the info. John
