How would one best determine which crosses would work best with the plants they have? I'm just curious. I don't think I will be trying this this season, but maybe next year.

if i were to have a general opinion, it would be to cross a plant that can produce the world's heaviest pumpkin, the 845 Bobier for example, which doesn't have good color in my opinion, with a plant that has great orange color as well as world-record heritage, or just the great orange color. it's just the way i've done it so far---my 300 seed (1140 X 845) resulted in the 508...not real big, but orange, and my best-looking fruit so far--see it on the AGGC (Gerry 508 '02) also, my 728.5 was an 845 poll'd by the 1140----see the result>>>Drake 735 '02---you'll start to see my reasoning...or so i would call it! good luck with all of the other answers you'll get!
