what does everyone use in terms of vines? 3 or 4 main vines, or just 1 main vine? how much room should these have (length wise), if there are several main vines, or just one? I'm trying to figure out where in the patch to plant, which growing pattern to use, and how many main vines to have. I don't have tons of space, a 25 x 30 for 2 plants.

you can find a sketch of a patch that is 31 x 31 at this link: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=1964 with two plants you could just shorten one of the sides. two plants- two mains- lots of 2ndaries. ask away if you have any more questions. good luck gordon

My patch is about the same size as Brigittes. I have about that much tilled up but they can travel as far as they like beyond the actual patch. So Christmas tree is the way to go or would it be better to have two spaced in a line about 25 feet apart and travelling in the same direction?
