This year I'm using a cooler and a heating pad in the bottem of the cooler to germinate my seeds. The seeds are three inches above the heating pad I noticed mold on the sides of the 4 inch pet pots the seeds that have germinated I took out of the cooler are under a light. I have replaced some of the pet pots that had mold on them with new wones being careful not to disturb the seedlings. Do you think I should be concerned about the mold? Any advise would be appreciated thanks Quinn.

hey, i think perhaps, depending on what others say here, that if you buy a can of Captan 50% wettable powder, mix up like 4 tablespoons, or 2 oz., i think with a gallon of tepid, 90 degree water, and set those peat pots right in it for a few seconds, one at a time, to soak them with the solution, that MAY cut down on your mold problem, not sure...probably when someone else sees this they will give you a better recommendation....be very sure to be very careful with the Captan--abide by the label where safety is concerned--goggles and rubber gloves, please. all i know is that i use this equation when i start my seedlings, and, i don't have any mentionable mold going on. hope i help. Quinn, I nhad the same thing happen in my cooler too. It was too humid I figured out. That may not be your problem but worth investigating. Kyle
