I have some secondaries that will out grow the prime soil of the patch and hit my yard. should I A) prune them at the edge of the patch (12ft)and bury the ends.or B)let them run under the fence into the yard. The yard soil is poor but I can trench a little under the vines projected path. thanks for your input

Do you have plenty of room for the main? If so, then I would prune the secondaries at the edge. Be sure and bury all the vines to maximize your root system. I let vines go onto my lawn before and this is what I observed: 1. They don't root well. 2. They are constantly wet from the grass and fungus grew on them. 3. The lawn is a pain in the neck to mow with vines on it.
