I'm an avid sports fan and I'm always making my preseason predictions (though they're never very accurate). I think it's time we pick our top ten BigPumpkins.com 2001 growers. Please restrict your picks to members who keep a 2001 diary (so we can follow progress) based on this size of his/her heaviest fruit. I don't mean to offend anyone left off the list....it's just for fun:)

1. Len - The man, the myth, the legend...this one was a no brainer.
2. Amy - 788.6 last year and an impressive lineup this year. My mom's from PA, my wife is from PA...what can I say, I'm partial to women from PA!
3. Mark(3) - Who can argue with a man who hit 841 last year?
4. Ken D. - 600 pounder and co-webmaster of the greatest site on the web.
5. Bruiser - Mosaic virus aside... had to put a southern grower in the top five.
6. Matt - I've seen too many nice pics of this guys pumpkins to leave him out.
7. John D. - Recovered nicely from a hoop house disaster and our other co-webmaster. Next year may I suggest the H.T.D.P.W.D.
8. Jeff (5) - Another southern boy. Presence of Cleon in his patch can not be ignored.
9. Farmer Tom - A home schooler with a passion for pumpkins. Don't underestimate this youngin'.
10. svrichb - A foolish, sentimental pick:)

Hey, that's ok...thanks for the support mark.....you never know what will happen. I am not offened. Just look'n to top my 2000 weight of 762lbs. Len will get a big one, he always does, and is due for another 1000lber. Amy takes great care(and has helpers) of here pumpkins, they'll always have attention....i am sure she will get another big one.....just have to have the weather on her side. Someone will break out on this list, just not sure who it will be....

Sorry Case....like I said, my picks are never very good. It was an oversight on my part. I was just going on what I read and the people I corresponded with and included myself because I could imagine everyone rolling their eyes when they saw it. What can I say...I'm a newbie.

I am honored. But being only my third year.. I still have plenty of mistakes to learn from....

I just hope to beat Ken D. by 1/16 lb!

If I can't do that, 600 lbs would be nice.

All I want is 205lbs. That is all that I need to beat my state record.

But 1141 lbs. would be nice...:)

Yes, John and I have a little webmasters competition going. However, I would not put us in the top 10. I think we will see some newcomers in the top ten along with the "heavy hitters" from last year (Len, Amy, Mark, Case, Scott, Matt, etc.). Of course the overall winner is going to be RVSK!!

My picks are not what I would call authoritative. Every member of BigPumpkins.com knows I'm an newbie and full of "it". I just like having fun....like the way I picked Maryland every year for the last ten years in the office NCAA Tournament pool. It's not meant to slight, insult, embarrass, anger, etc. If it has inspired one of those emotions in you please accept my apoligies.

No negative emotions at all here. I think this is a fun topic too! This type of grower interaction is what this site is all about.

Does anyone else have a guess or who they think will be in the top ten?
