I am new at growing ags. How lone does the vine need to be before you let keep a pumpkin on it? My main vien is only 3feet 3 inches. It has a fruit setting on the main vine? Should I just let it go, or take it off. Thank you for your help.

Ideal length would be around 10 to 15 feet out, but people have grown some very large pumpkins as close as 6 feet out from the base. In my opinion, 3 feet is way too close, and you should remove it and any others until at least 8 feet at a bare minimum.

Thank you every one who has helped me out with their advice. I think I will just remove it and wait until my vine is longer.
