Does the Stelts 801.5 tend to produce "long" pumpkins as oppossed to round. The 801.5 itself looks long and I'm wondering if that has been passed on to its progeny. Any firsthand experience out there?

save yourself a lot of trouble and become a member of the AGGC--Atlantic Giant Genetics Cooperative should be able to just type that in to MSN and go from there, perhaps try the LINKS option on the home page of this site-- i do believe they are varied, but ALWAYS, like 99% of the time fabulous orange! okay i just looked at the AGGC-very handy , no not Paul, and the 801.5 offspring, well, doesn't look disproportionally long to me--no first-hand experience, but a start anyway! if you have an 801.5 to grow in your lifetime, i wish i were your neighbor! and if you"ve got 300+ for the auctions, get one! 1140 looks long though, from the picture.... I just looked at the 1074 Calais from last year: http://www.bigpumpkins.com/DisplayPhoto.asp?pid=1700 For a great orange colour it´s true, but for the shape it appears to be a little more long than round. Does the AGGC site offer a photo gallery along with the genetic database?

AGGC has photos of many pumpkins when they've been collected. More than can be found anywhere else. Plus the hierarchy & progeny feature is very easy to use. Steve

I believe the 801.5 produces long pumpkins, as well as round. I do know that Mr. Stelts prefers to keep those long, torpedo shaped fruits!
