As the growers in the mid west have noticed that there has been no sun plenty rain, and cool temps for the past 6 days. Has anyone notice the thickness of there vines are almost double the normal thickness. My 841 the vine thickness has almost doubled since the cold weather, only about 2 feet of growth in the past week. mark

Im in the northwest, but our weather has been about the same and I have noticed the same thing. The leaves are getting really big and the stems are getting pretty beefy.

I have 2 plants growing a mombert 934 & a holland 945 both have thicker than normal stumps . I thought it might be they both have the same genetics ( mombert 567.5 x lloyd 935). But it might be the cool weather...........Paul

We have had alot of rain lately, but it has been warm and mostly sunny the last couple of days. My plants has the big leaves also (some 12" across). My plant hasn't started to vine yet, the stalk is about 8" tall and stands straight up. The stump is about an inch thick at the base. I don't know if this is abnormal, but I had the measurements handy and just thought that I would share. Is this normal? Justin

That must be common this year for pumpkin vines. All of mine have big fat stems. Maybe a big stem will mean a big pupmkin..hehe

Hmmmm, there may be something to this. The weather man said we are having the worst summer start in 100 years here in WI. and MN. Average Temps have been around 55 degrees, which is 20 below the Normal average. Super.

Have any of you stopped and Looked at that Beautiful full Moon that we are having now. On the west coast at Beautiful Huntington Beach we are having High Tides two to three feet above normal from the Gravatational Pull of the Moon. Can the same force be working on your plants? No Ocean to Pull on maybe it is pulling on your Pumpkins.

It is 8:38 here and I still can't see the moon, but I live in between two really big hills... they must be blocking my view. Oh and being one sixth of a world away probally doesn't help a whole lot... hahaha
