Where I am fron we have a lot of trouble with extreme temperatures. It is not uncommon for it to reach 98F with a heat index of 115F. What should I use to cool off my pumpkins misters or partial shade? Oh by the way I live in Kentucky and it is a little farther south than Canada.

oh I have one more thing to add in the summer months we have long dry spells so if I used misters the air might be dry enough to keep mold or fungus or whatever from growing.
PS. I have no idea what I am talking about this will be the first year that I have really tried to grow a giant pumpkin, and any comments or tips would be more than welcomed. THANKS

Hi Bob, I'm glad to see another grower from Ky on here. I just used sprinklers twice a day last year and didnt have any trouble with mold or fungus. You may want to spray with a fungicide a few times to be safe. Good Luck

Bob,
There is an article in the How-To section of this site about misting systems that I used to set up mine. I'm preparing for those 100 degree days we get in July and August.
