Does anyone use grow lights in the first 4-5 weeks after transplanting?

Hey Coup........i was thinking about throwing a couple out under the cold frame, but the weather finally co-operated, and i'm maintaining about 70 degrees on the mound. I did have my old waterbed matress heater on the mound for a couple weeks too. I started my seeds in the house in coffee cans, and had grow lights on 'em.....i actually think they grew too tall too fast! By the time i had my mounds ready, the plants had 6 or 7 inch stems. I have an 896 Wells growing crazy out under the cold frame now....3 new leaves in the last 4 days! I would be afraid of it getting too hot in there with grow lights now, but it's a pretty small cold frame too....only 4ft wide, 5ft long, and about 3ft high. Good luck.

Decoupal, I have allways used 60 watt red incandescent floods on my babies for the first six weeks after transplanting both for the extra heat at night as well as the photoperiodism benifits of short wave spectral energy distribution.
