I am a first timer. Any secrets about when to transplant to the outside garden. Do you have to move the plants out gradually (i.e. a couple hours a day) before planting in the garden)

You should not have to harden off the plants, just put them out as soon as the weather in your area allows. Be sure and protect the seedlings from the wind and frost. See the grower diaries for lots of different designs.
