Well, is there? I have a 723 Bobier up that looks just average and one from my own seed planted as a backup that is a stud. An 850 Hester backup is looking very good too, marginally better than the 835 McIntyre that was my first choice for this spot. My main plants are in as of yesterday, but I have these killer backup plants still in the pots. Should I double plant and make my decision later, or go with the name brands and give them all the room they need? I also have an 815 Andersen and 940 Mombert 98 looking for homes. Due to germination problems last spring I probably went overboard with starting quality backup plants.

Remember, Tiller, some plants are "sleepers"....they start slow and then come on strong in July.

I would say my 723 Bobier plant last year was a below average looking plant. The only reason I did not pull it early on, was I did not have a backup at the time. This puny nothing to look at plant went on to grow my 1096.8 pounder, so you may want to give your 723 some more time before you cull it...Joe Pukos

I had nearly given up on the Rockwell 771.6 seed as it had not broken the surface in six days....then finally on the seventh day...it shot out of the ground and has already caught the rest of the "early birds"!

The size of the plant or the speed of growth or plant vigor is an important. But it doesn't always mean that you won't get a big one my 841 came off a slow plant.mark
