Supplemental Calcium from Calcium Nitrate would be nice around fruit set. Everything else looks good to me. It's times like this though that it would be nice to see the results from some of the HH's.

I get paid to interpret soil test results & design fertility programs for TURFGRASS. But for exteme pumpkin growing, it's a different ball game all together.

one more thing. AFTER this test was sent off, I added 2 full pickup truck loads of Horse Manure, 1 full pickup load of cow manure, and 2 full truck loads of leaves. I have tilled all this up about 5 times within the last 3 weeks and may till it one more time next weekend. My patch is 1000 sqft. Any predictions on how my post season alterations will affect my soil results and what I may be requiring in the spring? Thanks Again. Mike

Mike be careful not to overtill or the nutrients from the manure will leach out quicker......

Mike, I just look at my soil and go OH Crap! off to the dairy, the muncipal leafe dump, the swamp land out back, and start hauling in the goodies! I did do a pH test and they came back at 6.5 or so, Seriously dig it deep bro!

Hey Mike, if I know a little on soils, I say yours has fine numbers indeed, guy! Only nitrogen was low, but use to be in fall, and with the later manure additions it will be fabulous next year. I think you should add only calcium nitrate (as Tremor said) and a little of slow release complet fertilizer (like osmocote) in spring prior to planting.
Mi soil (granitic) use to need calcium, magnesium and pottasium every year.

Got another for the soil guys...I just got my fall soil sample tests back...I left my spring and last fall results in the office so I can't do comparisons but they have a "Lime Requirement Index" in this one that I don't recall in the previous ones... according to Adams-Evans buffer value its a 7.95 ...a value near 8 indicates poorly buffered soil value near 7 are hightly buffered? spring test said not to add lime because the calcium was out of whack... this test sez PH is 6.3 but not to add lime again as I'm in the optimum range for pumpkins...Any ideas on that Adams-Evans stuff?
