I have grown pumpkins for many years but this is my first attempt at a very early start. Germinated April 12th put in garden shelter with heating cables April 22nd. Culled down to 2 plants May 7th. Both plants have 12 true leaves and are forming some small blooms. Should I leave it in the "greenhouse" until it out grows it? Or remove the protection before that. Is this a good size plant for this time of year? I am in Northern Missouri.

I live in central PA and although the temps have been in the upper 80's and have removed the greenhouse on most of these days I put it on at night just in case the wind kicks up. I also keep it close by because we could still get some frost. I transplanted mine to the greenhouse in April 29 and it only has 5 true leaves so I would think 12 leaves are great. I'm not an expert though and I'm not familiar with your part of the country. good luck,Amy
