I have several AG's growing in a greenhouse in the garden with heating cables. I have to leave to go to work during the day so I must decide at sunrise whether to open the doors. Wondering how low air temps can be without setting plants back? Also when do I cull the plants in the same hill I don't plan to keep?

I plan to cull down to one plant per hill when the plants start to impact one another. They will grow around and into each other when trying to get the light. Probably around 5 true leaves.

Up here people use automatic window openers in their greenhouses. These are simple hydraulic devices that are inexpensive. There is a fluid in a tube which, when heated, expands and pushes an arm attached to your hinged window. The hotter it gets the wider it opens. When the air temp. cools the fluid retracts and lets the window close again. You might want to ask a local greenhouse supply store about these.
