This year is perfect for those who believe in planting by the moon to obtain the maximum benifit from "cosmic energy". The next Full moon is May 7. For your seeds to get maximum benifit, they should be planted 3 to 4 days ahead of the full moon, which will be May 3 or 4. Thats perfect for me as I aim to put the seeds in my cold frame to germinate between May 3 and 5. Tomorrow I will start spending full time at our Nunda, NY farm, until the end of October (no computer at farm). I was there for 3 days last week and all my pumpkin patches were too wet to walk in. My sub-soil is clay and it takes a long time to dry out when saturated as it is now.

Bummer about the computer. Thanks for your input over the last few months...it is more appreciated than you can know.To have a true heavy hitter as active as you have been has really added to this website. Good luck in the coming season and hope to read you again in the Fall.......G

Len!
I want to thank you personally for all you've given to this site and the advice you've provided us with! I definately will be using "cosmic energy", as well as anything else that may work. You've given the world of giant pumpkin growers a huge contribution, and I wish you all the luck in the upcoming season. If anyone "deserves" the first pumpkin over 1200#, it is you! Thanks for sharing your seeds with us "amateurs", and not trying to raffle them off for $50 a seed! Your honesty and infinite knowledge and help has shown the giant pumpkin growing community that "money isn't everything". Thanks for everything!

Tom,
No, Why are you asking? Len has left the computer behind to go grow giant pumpkins, so I'll answer for him. The 1056.5 came from the 946.5 Geerts x 916 LaRue. The 1056.5 has grown 5 pumpkins over 700#. All this information can be found at the A.G.C.C. I'll be growing Stelts this year, you can't argue with the results!

Yes, and it is the grandfather on the female side of the 1009.6 Connolly (sp?).
