Hope you're watching Howard! Danny, remember the nose bleeds we got at the old AUD? I'll be watching from home in Hamburg. Ray Waterman GO Sabres!

Most people in here know Howard as the father of AG's, but how in case you didnt know, Howard's pond is the birthplace of hockey! Very historic man with very historic roots(AG's and hockey).

That game was great, especially if you're a Pens fan, which I happen to be. It couldn't have been better in my eyes. Perfect hockey weather and the Pens won in a shootout with Sid scoring the winner. They're talking of trying to do an outdoors game between the Pens and the Flyers next season at Penn State's football stadium, Beaver Stadium. It holds 110,000 people, I hope they get it done and I hope I get tickets. I loved playing hockey outdoors when I was a kid too. Only two things kept me out of the NHL..............size and talent. LOL

Ah, the good old days, about 4 years ago, when I used to be able to watch an NHL game on TV. I really like the sport... being from the western US, we didn't have ANY hockey until ESPN started showing games in the mid-80's. I became a fan and especially appreciated the talents of one guy named Gretzky. In the spring of 1988 me and some buddies made the trip to the Northlands in Edmonton to see him play. Gretz got a goal and two assists in a 4-2 victory over Winnepeg.

Later that year, the trade was made.

Since the strike, NHL is no longer available on my TV. I suppose I could get it if I had "Versus"(??). But I refuse to pay more $$ for every individual item. I think the NFL is going that way as well, with the NFL Network (i.e., find a way to make the owners more money IN THE SHORT TERM)...

OK, I suppose my post belongs in the cabin fever section.

I watched the entire game and was glued to the TV. Great event for the NHL, IMO. NBC kinda dropped the ball on the coverage though who cares about the Hanson reference what did that really have to do with anything other than Bob goofy Costas. They should have been out in the croud and played up the atmosphere even more. Hats off to the ICE keepers it was one heck of a day to play with that terrible storm. I got a kick out of the news story carried by the news papers describing the weather as better suited to a football game. Hell it was a hockey game outdoors in winter. It can't be any more normal than that. Did you all see the kids playing shinny off to the side. It was priceless.
