Just wondering what color pumpkin everyone likes. Post a link to your favorite colore pumpkin(or Squash). Just thought it would be interesting to know what every one likes. I like Doug W. 1041 from MN..the one off the 955 was nice too.

Of course I'm biased here, but since I grew the 1046.6 off the 364 Webster I like the big, shiney, an orange fruit. Here's this years results off that 1046.6 cross:

I like the ones with hints of orange and light green for some reason.

Now, that's a tough one. Seen some mighty fine pumpkins over the years - 810 Dill, 1092 Daigle, 1101 Northrup, well, any Northrup pumpkin for that matter, but at the end of the day - 1290 Poirier for sheer size, beauty and shape gets our vote!
As for squash, I believe the 611 Gadberry produced an awesome black/green squash for Olsen 2 years ago.

It may not be as big as some of the above but I was happy with the color of the fruit I grew on the 670 Daigle this year. Made one heck of a boat too! http://www.bigpumpkins.com/Diary/DiaryViewOne.asp?eid=76719

the Van Hooks grew some pumpkins this year thats for sure, I aint never recieved so many seeds at one time in a bubble pack from a grower before. They gotta be using half the state to grow in,lol!! They really put alot of effort in there pumpkin growing.

Yeah those Van Hook brothers grew some nice ones and made some killer crosses. Hopefully a lot of their seeds hit the dirt next year.

I don't know if the color of the 1159 Richards can be beat. I agree, that the 1225 Jutras pumpkin deserves to be mentioned as well. Kevin Companion had a nice, big orange one last year....I don't recall the weight.

Alex,
Thanks for recognizing my pumpkins. I was quite pleased with their color. I don't know if I'll ever lose the color bug. As I plan for next year, good color genetics dominate. It's nice to see so many people recognizing and appreciating great colored pumpkins.
I think diversity in pumpkin growing is a good thing.
