hi everyone, im from nova scotia. I've been growing for two years with a personal best of 798 lbs. I have 1 ton of qypsum ready to be spread on a 50 ft by 50 ft garden. Test results from the NS agricultural college show calcium 221684.591 ppm, k20 0.196%, sulfur 48.805%, conductivity mmhos 2.650, dry matter 98.140%. I was wondering if this is safe to apply & how much should be applied to a patch this size. Calcium levels in the garden are now at 3000 ppm. thank you, merry christmas !

At 3000ppm already, you dont need much.
I assume you Ca levels of 221684.591 ppm is a typo.
For 2500 square feet, I wouldn't add more than 150 lbs or so.

could be a typo.the report does say 221684.591ppm.also,is conductivity a measure of salts.

I think 221684.591 ppm is just a long way of saying 22.1%.

Yeah, it does mean 22.1% because 221684.591/1000000 equals 0.221...22.1%, but it should be somewhere between 3000-4000 ppm, which equates to 0.003, or 0.3%.
So to recap, if all # are right, you are at 22.1% but should be at 0.3%...which is almost 75x what you need. I would call them.

Wait, nevermind, I was not paying attention. Analysis of the gypsum, not soil, duh.

I bet I could find a place for about 150 pounds of it. Not to keen on the idea of spreading it on top of a foot of snow though.
