I was tuned in to the auction and I got a call with terrible news. My friend, trainer and neighbor for the last 15 years lost one of his two boys in a car crash. The other son is in critical condition and not expected to make it.When I moved to Nova Scotia 16 years ago I didn't know anyone. Gary showed me around and made me feel like family. Our kids are the same age 15 and 18. Gary is a religious man and putting on a strong face but his only children are gone. Please keep him in mind and include him and his wife Jane in your prayers. Thanks.

You know, it was only last month that another terrible accident happened here where 4 people were killed and one of them was my son Alex's friend. Andy, I am sure you heard of this accident since we are not far from each other. It can be extremely hard on everyone when such young people die in this manner while it can also show to our children how fast a life can be taken away and then how they have to deal with it. Unfortunately, it is another bad snowy, windy day in N.S. and hopefully all will be safe. My thoughts go out to the family.

This is the last I'll post on this subject. Gary's oldest son Jared is in an induced coma. That in itself is good news. The extent of his head injuries won't be known until weeks, maybe months from now, his condition is critical but the doctors are cautiously optimistic. Yes, lady moe, I am painfully aware of the crash you speak of. It is my job to attend these crashes and somehow make sense of them ( yeah right ). I want to thank everyone for their prayers and good thoughts, it means more than you will ever know.
