I'm looking for a little feed back on setting up some seed lots, or possibly all lots to be auctioned off at let say a three minute time limit. The auctioneer would announce the lot- then on his watch announce you have 3 minutes , 2 minutes and then sold. After sold is called, the highest bid on the auction transcript wins the lot. I think that this would speed things up considerably and make a nice change of pace. We have our IGPGA auction 1-12-08. We might try a few of these

I would suspect there will be very few bids untill 2minutes and 59 seconds and then there will be several bids trying to beat the clock. It would make for a nice quick auction but I think the end results for your organization(and all of the bidders except the one who actually won) would be less then satisfactory.

the way to go George, first lots may get bet up some but price could even be better;going to cattle auctions where they were sold every 15to20 seconds were the better prices, then going to small auctions where the auction held out for more money always sold cheaper, the buyers used him to buy cheap and i was one.A fast sale will bring more growers too and you must all work together for it to work.My self i am fed up with 3hr sale for 25 lots.
