Every ones talks about total area of plant that produced the fruit I was just wanting to know if any one keeps track of total leaf area at time of pollination. As in are you better to polinate slightly later with more leaf area or as early as possible and have plant and pumpkin growing hard at the same time?

Some growers used to count leavesrather than just estimating square footage. I'd like to see more of this dialog again too.

I pollinated on the main at 14'. My plant had 10 secondaries per side. I pollinated on July 1st. 48 days after transplanting. I wouldn't wait much more that 55 days after transplant maximum.
