Introducing BIOGROW HYDRO SOL and BIOGROW AQUA SOL PLUS AT www.hollandsgiants.com These two mycorrhizae products will prove to be great tools in growing giant pumpkins.

BIOGROW HYDO SOL mixes with water and has 4 species of Endomycorrhizae. HYDO SOL is very concentrated, 2 TBSP makes a gallon of inoculant.

BIOGROW AQUA SOL PLUS is a water soluble product as well. Besides providing the very important Endo or Abuscular mycorrhizae, BIOGROW AQUA SOL PLUS also inoculates your soil with 2 strains of Trichoderma and 19 beneficial bacteria. Each beneficial bacteria is listed on our website, 6 billion cfu/lb.

Learn all about these great new products at www.hollandsgiants.com They are listed right after our BIOGROW ENDO PLUS granular myco.

What is the difference (besides the obvious) between water soluable and granular. Which is preferred for seed starting, which for planting, which for adding to the plant later?

Hi Rob, We still recommend the granular for adding to the seed starting mix, placing in the planting hole, and for working into the soil when trenching and burying vines. The soluble in the case of the HYDRO SOL Would be used as insurance at the base of the plant and along the vines in case some leaf axils were missed when burying, or some growers may be doing many plants and don't have time to use the granular at each leaf axil. The soluble could be a time saver and a way to cover a whole plant at once. In the case of the AQUA SOL PLUS, you are getting those same benefits plus introducing 19 beneficial bacteria. This may be especially useful after an area has been treated with chemicals that may have had an adverse impact on existing soil organisms.

I have received some emails from growers asking what 6 billion cfu/lb means, after the list of beneficial bacteria in the AQUA SOL. This means 6 billion Colony Forming Units in each lb. of material. Thank you!

Surface inoculation of VAM is not reliable so folks should still make every effort to physically incorporate even a soluble inoculant for best results. Just pouring inoculant on top of soil would deliver hit & miss results.

Is it recommended that these solubles be injected somehow to insure proper placement? A tree root injector or "feeding needle" could be very useful for delivering these products.

Tremor, I was thinking, if ya had one of them 2 gallon pump sprayers and stuck the nozzel into the ground into the roots that might work just as well. Never tried it before but It seems like it would work like a feeding needle.

One recommendation we are working on is to open up the trench, lay the vine in, and wet down that entire area with the soluble solution before covering the vines, especially for non-porous soils. I cover my vines with a very porous finished compost material, so I may be alright, but we will constantly be conferring with a specialist in this area with a Phd in order to get the very best information on the labels and directions.
