So, 30 Yards of Black Gold, 20 Yards of Compost. Neighbor kids are begging to make a "sweet Jump" out of them as they were delivered this weekend and won't get tilled in until spring. Go-Karts, Snomobile and 4 Wheelers all over the garden? Insurance issues aside, How deep shall I till in the spring to loosen up this compaction? I am taking this into consideration as I plan to blackmail them into helping with Spring Prep...

Joe, Soil compaction is good.......for your fellow competitors LOL. Seriously though, I wonder if compaction will be an issue, when the soil is frozen hard? Sounds like you'll have some nice soil next year. Us fellow MN growers may have to up our game.

First......tell us the size of your patch. That will help us determine what would be best to loosen your soil in the Spring.

The big question is how long of a run will they have at the jumps? LOL Make sure you have the camera ready.

I drive my truck on my yard all winter long. Pretty tough to compact frozen soil. You can drive heavy equipment on frozen ground and not compact.

The Patch is 90 X 60.. They'll have to take a sideways run at it.. Should be able to get some sweeeet air... They were hoping to get to abuse the garden before it freezes which I have decided not to do as I can still see the Tractor Marks from the weighoffs!!! But.... I think I'm going to wear a helmet!!

Joe except for exit and entrance leave the fence up,,it will confine all the spillage to the patch area and all the pieces and parts won't be all over the lawn next spring. :-)
