New members of the Commonwealth here on BP.com
Please continue to post on BP lots of new growers and old timers are listening and lurking. You will eventually gain a wide range of acceptance as your experience grows. I was once there and now some people even believe me,imagine that.
You are well educated and just need time to prove your thoughts and ideas! Do not give up. The Bp community needs young energetic gutsy guys like you.
We would all rather be helped it is human nature and believe me I know how it feels to be rejected on the message boards.
Research each question or thought you express and you’ll be fine. There are many, many poor & rude posters. They are usually not open to new ideas.
Today a fellow named Docgipe returned to BP after an absence of a couple of years. He was dogged repeatedly by several posters about his organic ideas as early as 2002. Well low and behold all of what he was talking about is now widely accepted as mainstream.
Welcome back Dwaine i hope all is well

I have kept in contact with Doc for the 2 years he has been away from BP, emailing each other a couple times a month, not to just talk about pumpkins but to just BS in general. I got a email from Doc when I finally popped a couple big pumpkins and now have it in a frame next to the things I have won this year, this email is way better then any trophy, ribbons, or even money I have received for growing pumpkins , and its emails like this is why I really love the sport of growing pumpkins and thats having friends like Doc. Im not posting this email to brag on myself but just to show how Doc makes a grower feel when they accomplish something. This email touched my father alot and especially made my father proud which made me feel even better about myself. This email was the highlight of me growing pumpkins in the last 4 years that I would like to share with everyone. Again, please don't think I'm bragging on myself because I'm really not, this is something Id like to share with you guys to show you how Doc makes a grower friend feel when the accomplish something. This email was the highlight of my growing career, thank you Doc.

Brooks.....You are and will continue to be viewed as a new heavy hitter for all kinds of reasons. Simply what you have just done is what hundreds if not thousands of growers would like to do. Enjoy it for it is seldom in one's life that an event becomes one to remember as good and at the head of your class...so to speak. It may be hard to comprehend but you are now on a success level with the very best. I have not and will not do the homework to find out but you are now in the top ten percent category in my opinion. Indeed while you may see the same ole face in the mirror others have and will continue to mark you as one of the best. You just keep on enjoying it cause that is just the way it is. So I see your famous days as the day you were born to two proud parents, the day you married your mate choice, the first new car day, maybe a graduation, your kids first day and maybe one or two very difficult life situations you have whooped and came out on top making good decisions. So now you add an outstanding gardener's first major success. I have no fancy words for it other than "Atta-boy". I think we have sort of hit it as friends because we fit in a category of competitive but still just "good 'ole boys" doing what is fun for us in a positive field of play. You seem to have things balanced out pretty well in my mind. Now to pump up your ego a tad trust me...."there is no other grower I would rather spend a day with out there in the big pumpkin field". That will come to pass one way or another when the time is right. I am really sorry I could not be in Barnesville to help with the hooting and hollering in your honor

Welcome Back Dwain... I took off a few years from posting on BP. Glad to see your back too. The BP family needs old and new growers to continue to grow as large as our fruit weights. This site is here for people to learn off one another, and it's nice to get back growers like you.

Doc, Welcome back!!! My son Riley and I really appreciated all your wonderful advice over the years. We grow organically here in Santa Cruz...and our pumpkins are getting bigger. We were able to grow the biggest pumpkins in Santa Cruz County this year.

Well you see folks I never feared to tread where the devil would not even glance. Therefore I got my tired butt kicked beyond the pleasure point too. I shall try to keep my simple mind involved with words most can understand. Donkeys I can no longer deal with. I can't handle the two by four it takes to get their undivided attention.
