Absolutely! Different growing conditions, weather, etc. can make a difference. If you selfed a 1068 Wallace on a 100 sq. ft. plant, just for genetics(not saying any person would do this LOL) and ended up with a 300 lb. pumpkin, you could grow the seed, with a full-sized, well cared for plant, and maybe end up with a 1200 pound pumpkin, or more. The 735 Pukos is a selfed 846 Calai, and it's seeds have produced a number of pumpkins over 1000 lbs.

Yup,
369 Grande 06 (selfed 1233.5 Reiss) grew a 550 lder nice round and orange for "Pinky" a rookie, his first year out....hmmmm sounds familar, .....lol ...... But this is a great story. My wife returned from a work related trip from Wyoming in October this year. Marti, her best friend, realted this story to her about her father (Pinky)at their convention. When TheWiz wife left for her business trip, she was pretty well fed up with TheWiz's pumpkin antics this year....Pumpkin Pumpkin Pumpkin......But upon her return she told me that Marty credits TheWIz for getting her father out of his bed ridden state and keeping him active in life. He didnt want to get out of bed until he planted those magic seeds, she said he looked forward to babying them every morning, watching them grow BIG. He never saw anything grow so fast in all his 85+ years of life. It put his picture on the local papers front page and got TheWIz out of pumpkin hot water.....He is now looking forward to April when Im going up to help him start his 08 pumpkins. Thanks Marti for giving me another year to grow in my home patch too.
