I'll miss Jack while I continue to enjoy his books. If you don't find at least part of yourself in "Pumpkins Are Orange" then your not growining giant pumpkins. Always a good read.

I never met him in person, but feel strongly bonded to him. And yet another season passes. Thank you Jack!

Jack and I met Jack through Shellie. What a wonderful man with a lot of great stories. I see a lot of people I know in Pumpkins are Orange. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Jack and Sherry

I am sorry to hear of Jack's passing. He autographed and personalized a copy of "Pumpkins are Orange" for me about 4 years ago. I remember how nice the "tone" of his emails were. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy.
RIP Jack

While visitng the Northwest about 7 or 8 years ago, Jack took me out to breakfast at his favorite cafe. I discovered what a great sense of humor he had when he tricked me into ordering enough side dishes with my breakfast that 10 lumberjacks could not have eaten it all. The waitress actually had to set up a special tray next to us because all the food that he suggested that I order would not fit on our table top. We laughed a lot and I left the cafe with "doggie bag" so full that it took me 4 days to eat it all. As Sherry mentioned, he was a great story teller. In addition to being a great author he was also a gifted artist.
He was also a very thoughtful man. When he learned that I lent my copy of "Pumkins are Orange" to a friend and didn't get it back, he surprised me by mailing me an autographed copy. He was a class act for sure. He will be missed.
