I'm hoping someone from Michigan can help me. My boss is from Michigan and claims that he and his grandfather grew a Pumpkin 430lbs+ and had the largest pumpkin at the Hillsdale Fair in the mid-1970's. I believe that would have been a World Record. He's not one to joke around and tells me that when he visits his mother again that he will try and find a picture. I've looked online and can't find any info. Their last name is Marsh. Thanks for your help.

His name is Dan Marsh. I'm not sure what area of Michigan he is from. Dan would have been in Junior High / High School at the time.

Hey Steve: Andy T used to have the Michigan record before Don did. (500+ lbs). But my records only go back as far as Don's early 90's stuff... I will be talking to Sunday in the next week or two about the winter meeting. I'll ask her if she knows...

Depends which year he Michigan 430 was grown & if it can be substantiated.
So far as I can tell, the 403 Warnock 1903 stood as the WR until the 459 Bob Ford 1976 happened. This ushered in the "modern era" of giant pumpkins as we know it today.
