What happened to the Ebay Auction?

What time was the clip on with the big pumpkins? I had to do some work, but taped it and would like to go back and see the clip.

Tom it was on in the last half hour. It went by very quickly. All the guys did a great job including Stelts who looked to have a fresh hair cut! Joe got his Guinness world record awarded to him as Dave stood by with a wide eyed grin. They unfortunately did not get the Ebay auction plug in.

The only things I can think of... At the end of the auction there isn't time to deliver the pumpkins beyond 50 miles of Manhattan before dark on the 31st. Since pumpkins are generally deemed worthless by Nov. 1st, Ebay may have thought that too many bidders from places like Idaho would be duped into bidding and not get their pumpkins by the big day.

The other thing is perhaps there is some rule against doing a tie-in with something like the Good Morning America show. Ebay might have pulled it to prevent them from mentioning it. Anyway, these theories are just speculation on my part.

Can someone in the GMA locale check and see if a DVD of the show can be purchased? Areas and broadcasters do this, this would be something neat to show in Niagara, in fact I hope other states growers can bring up to Niagara TV spots that were shown in there states to share at Niagara, would be way cool.

We had tried unsuccessfully to list the eBay auction with "Mission Fish" which is the charitable branch of eBay. They notified us there wasn't time to establish ourselves through Mission Fish. Mission Fish would have paid the GPC back for the various fees that eBay charges. We decided that these fees weren't overly burdensome so listed it as a straight auction. I haven't seen their explanation yet but apparently the delisting had something to do with that.

We had already paid for the general listing & images so it will be interesting to see if they refund us for those charges.

Not being lawyers & CPAs we didn't think we were doing anything wrong especialy since we had already paid the fees expected of an other seller. Maybe some day we'll have a budget for legal help before getting involved in such endeavors.

Who would have ever thought that it would be questionable to sell a pumpkin two days before Halloween?

We're very sorry for any trouble this may have caused.

I was able to listen to the broadcast since it is broadcast onto the sidewalks. My wife supposedly taped it as she doesn't know he to work my sons DVD recorder. LOL

The growers were all smiling when I left & the pumpkins were safely loaded so regardless of the actual footage that was broadcast I won't complain.

ABC treated the growers well as far as I've heard & that's what counts to me.
