Cool I was a little concerened that such great seeds would be in the hands of the person with the biggest wallet but their removing the seeds before shipping them. Obviously im just a working class country boy so I cant afford them but it goes to a good cause. Unfortunetly I feel some rich yuppie for the burbs will end up with them carved sitting next to their Benz and Hummer. Great cause though and what a display that would make. Cool

I HAVE SEEN INSTANCES WHERE VISITORS TO A WEIGH OFF WILL UP AND ASK TO BUY CERTAIN PUMPKINS FOR THEIR OWN DISPLAY.

ITS NOT A CHEAP HOBBY ANY LONGER WHAT WITH THE COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH ALL THE ADDITIVES WE USE.
SELLING A COUPLE PUMPKINS HELPS DEFRAY SOME OF THOSE EXPENCES

i will start a bid process right here. i bid 1000 dollars. i know you can not ship to me, that is not what i want. i want to win so that the growers can show off their pumpkins on the front lawn/porch as it should be.

i am not a ebay person, so if someone can keep me informed that would be great.

That's a good question, with the seeds or without? I know Joel Holland, if he wants to leave a pumpkin on display, he just cuts a section out, removes the seeds, and then re-installs the cut section. But doing that would limit it's remaining lifetime.

This is interesting and I can't begrudge anyone for wanting to recover some cash, but if those seeds are "lost", I think that's gonna set us back a year in this relentless pursuit of 2000.

Something about violation of ebay policies is the email I got. Not sure what's up...If anyone has any insight I'd like to know too. I was definetley out bid at that price, too rich for my blood.

Because I was a bidder (just for fun, several days ago, not intending to win...) I just got an email saying that the auction was taken down for violation of <something>. Doesn't exactly say what... What a bummer! To go to all that expense to take the pumpkins to New York, and then have Ebay pull the rug out....
