Jordan Rivington (JRO)

Windsor, Ontario, Canada

Back in highschool, my hunting license said Jrodan Rivington, instead of Jordan Rivington. My buddies sister though calling me jrodan was funny. It has somewhere along the line been decided that I will be called only that...and it has also been shortened to jro. We were bored.

I started out as Jupiter 2200, get it, a 2200 pound pumpkin the size of Jupiter (big), then after being told I'm asking to many questions in chat I came back with a different name, to ask more questions, they knew it was me and they said to just keep my name simple. So, I took my name Brouillard which in french means fog, and here I am surfing the web, so I thought why not fogsurfer.

SafeHouse Orange

Minnesota

So, My patch is located 45 miles away from our house in Chaska, MN.It's in Hutchinson, Mn. There is a farmhouse, barn and a granary on a lake. So as to not have to drink and drive we go there to "Hide Out" which led to the witness protection program and eventually we started calling it the "SafeHouse" Then I hit my head and started tilling up the yard and made this 6K square foot garden and Started growing Pumpkins... Add the Orange to the SafeHouse and there you go...

PumpkinBrat

Paradise Mountain, New York

Many years ago my grandfather started calling me "Brat" when I was very young. My mothers parents had fifteen children. Fifty-two grandchildren before they pasted on. All my aunts, uncles and cousins all called me Brat. No one ever called me by my real name, Brian. So when I signed on to BigPumpkins.com I just took and added pumpkin to brat and came up with PumpkinBrat......

geo. napa ca

Napa Valley, CA

Well, geo. napa ca is a no-brainer………….george from napa, ca

In the late 90’s , I went by PumpkinDude on the Mallorn list pumpkin page.
I got the name “pumpkin dude” in 1998 from my 6 year old grandson. He stopped by my
pumpkin patch…… and saw my pumpkin and said……..”hey grandpa, nice pumpkin, dude”………….. I was looking for a “handle”………..and pumpkindude sort of stuck.
PumpkinDude is still part of my e-mail address. Over the years I have done a number of AG educational videos (seminars mostly) under the guise of PumpkinDude Productions.
Now that I have retired, maybe I can do a few more……geo.

Gary..... nice job comming up with that 2002 thread !

lookajook

St. Thomas Ontario

Back in the 30's I had a great uncle Jerry...(through geneology, he was more crazy than great) that would sit around with my grandfather and play cards or "the devils books" as his Aunt would call them.
Finally, finding out how they were constantly caught, when Jerry "saw the shine of Aunt Min's eye in the keyhole, he "Jook'd" a hatpin through, sending her reeling with an "OH MY GOD MY EYE" never to peek in on their games again. Told the story lots as a kid and the name stuck.

Doug14

Minnesota([email protected])

Doug14...I've always liked the number 14 for some reason. I remember in grade school, the teacher asked the students, who didn't have a pumpkin at home yet, to pick a number 1-20. I picked 14, and that was the number, so I won a pumpkin. I confess I did have a pumpkin at home, so it wasn't an honest acquisition.

UnkaDan

When my niece Lynn was young she pronounced my name as "unkadan". It still sticks in the family and is now the name of my gardens as well.

Madman Marc!

Colo Springs CO

I am called Madman because I am quiet and shy...

NOT.... moooo haaaaa haaaa HAAAA!!!!!!

In my teenage years during high school (79-83), I was one of the first "true" headbanging metalheads. The high school I went to had about 250 students from 9-12th grades. The majority of the kids came from the country, those that didn't still had very sheltered lives (to say the least). My 9th grade year I lived below the radar, as it used to be legal to initiate freshman (LOL), but when I returned my 10th grade year, I came back with long hair... concert shirts... studded wrist bands... torn up jeans... bandanna's on my legs... sleveless levi jacket with heavy metal metal buttons...and a fake plastic bat with its head glued on which I filled up with fake blood. Just like Ozzy, I blew everyones mind after getting off the bus, biting off the head, spewing blood all over myself and then yelling "the madman is back!" The name never went away for some reason.....

My roommates never called me by my real name... Tracy. You'd think that wouldn't be too tough but they always decided to call me something else... Tracers was most common and therefore I go by that more often than anything else. Besides I thought it was better than Racers,Racytracy, or Racerific... yes I have silly friends.

Greensburg Pa

When I first signed up for the site I was in the midst of a PA Fire Academy class, also joined the Greensurg Fire Dept. I was stationed at Station 2 home of Ladder and Foam 2. I live in the city. I heard of Downtownladder 2. The name sounded good. I will always be a Fire Fighter at heart, haven't had the time lalely due to my full time passion being a Nurse. I garden as a stress release. But when you see Downtownladdder2- think of all your local fire fighters that are there when ever you call. All of those Heroes that give it their all so that we can be and feel safe. Remember those 343 NYC fire fighters who answered the final bell on Sept 11.

hoots dirt (Mark)

Farmville, Virginia ([email protected])

My wife and I live in the house left to her by her deceased parents. Her dads nickname was "Hoot". When I first tilled up the patch in the side yard I found the blackest top soil I had ever seen...hence the name "hoots dirt".

10/27/2007 3:49:36 AM

BHooked

Belmont, NH

The "B" is for Bruce. I changed my last name from Hooker to Hooked. Put it all together and what you have is what happens if you stay around this hobby/sport/obsession too long. You will "BHooked".

10/27/2007 6:59:34 AM

Jang

western PA

My first name is Janet, my last name starts with a "G", so put together you get JanG, or Jang.

It's funny, I own a political debate board, and some guy putting together an Asian-American PAC saw my name and made me a member of his group, lol. I never did tell him I'm English/Scotch, I just constantly disagreed with him until I mysteriously found myself off his mailing list for some reason... lol.
