We made the front page of the local paper today! Just a few mis-quotes, can you imagine if the 'stems' grew 18" a day and fish caused PM? Ah well, all press is good press! I do like the fact she added 45lb to the weight!

Bob Janicek never does anything alone. As he grows a giant pumpkin, everyone is involved, including residents in his Cottage Grove neighborhood, members of the Cottage Grove United Church of Christ and a gaggle of friends and relatives. The end of the growing season for this year’s giant pumpkin was celebrated Friday, Oct. 12 at the Janicek home. Everyone crowded into the Janicek back yard to admire the 600-pound beauty sitting on a wooden pallet.
“Dress warm, wear orange, bring a dish and drinks to share,” said the orange invitation. Homemade hot dogs, courtesy of Bonngard’s Family Meats were also served.
Janicek started growing giant pumpkins three years ago after seeing an ad in a magazine.......

LOL....I have family in Sauk rapids. One thing there is never a shortage of is meat! I think that Minnesotans are the connoisseurs of all meat.......wild, smoked, etc. Never seen so many small meat markets. Love everything Minnesota.
