I haven't been able to read all the post on BP like years past. I'm wondering which large pumpkins were what you would call really orange and pretty at weighoff time.

The 1290 Poirier, without a doubt one of the nicest I've ever seen. I got a 772.2 Poirier in my GVGO seed pack that will definetly be seeing some dirt in my patch nest year.

1250.5 Kline is a good one Billy, and also the 1069.5 Zunino produces some really pretty pumpkins.

1009 Kurilich. It exhibited a rare combination of symmetry and color. Even most really nice orange fruit, if you look close, have some subtle variation in orange color i.e. some of those lighter orange splotches throughout. The 1009 was all solid dark orange throughout. Flawless.

By the way, 1009 is 802 Kurilich x 1370 Rose. Joe's 1370 split in early-mid August. Weighed 898 lbs. A great cross. Though, to be honest, I'm not kidding when I say I think the addition of the 1370 might detract from the solid uniform color. 802 has been pretty consistent.

Bill:
I've got a lot of seeds strictly for orange pumpkins. I took the year off and may plant next year, but would only hang onto ten seeds or less. Let know if you're interested.

Bill, I don't know if I told you, but my two pumpkins at Delano were....1041 lber(603.5 Muller) and 824 lber(955 Brinkley). I'd recommend both for nice color. I'm considering both for next year.
