Yep, the second year curse! Vine bores, driest season on record for us, and all kinds of soft spots on 3 different pumpkins in my patch, lead me to one pumpkin at 275 pounds. Bigger than last years PB, but, what could have been if one of the others had held on.
I'm into the FEVER stage now, I'm doing patch prep in the worst way and worse, I have my hubby helping me to get all the amendments in I need for next years patch. Crazy, yup, but it's good all in the name of a good pumpkin.
It's the great pumpkin charlie brown! I can't wait for Spring!

the worst thing that can happen is to go yard the first time you step into the batters box.
after that all you can compair to is that home run ---each and every time you step into the box

If the "FDA" is working on any pills they will only make it worse!

I had two hail storms, a tornando, and an over fert, my plant still managed a pumpkin, and it was my first year. You mean there is some curse of the second year and it will be worst next year? lol

Do you REALLY think you can slow the old man down???? Do you guys think that you can beat a woman (or 2)? LOL! Remember what happened last year when someone, who shall remain nameless, said than no woman could ever beat him? Kim (Marcs wife)

I grew two pumpkinz this year not just one. The other plant got behind in the count and got to first base by bunting up the third base line. When "Ronnie" came to the plate, it turned into a double becauze "The WiZ" stole the Wallace'Z signz last month when he waz laying in the weedz watching Ron. Now the starting pitcher haz been pulled and the signz have been changed, so what will be served up ?? I'm just looking to get on base again. Like John Elway said..." You can't hit a home run if you don't step up to the plate." Coach Paps...I'm heading into the batting cage for the off season hoping I make your team next year.

Gary; The harder you try usually the worse you do...lol! The plants have a mind of their own, forcing them to do something they can't or won't usually ends up in failure. Just like children, if you give then all the basic things they need, raise them in a happy home, treat them only when they get sick, don't under or overfeed them, make sure they are never dehydrated, and limit their sexual activities... then you'll have the best results. Trying to MAKE them go to counsuling never works... LMAOLOL....
