I harvested the seeds from my pumpkin this past Monday. At the time of harvest the seeds had the nice brown/golden color. After a few days of drying they have turned white. What causes this? Is it a sign the seeds are no good?

What do they sound like when you drop them?

Tremor, I did a test before responding to your question. Compared mine to some others I have in collection. It sounds pretty much the same but since mine has only been drying for 6 days it does not have that "crisp" sound when it is dropped. I cut one open and it looks like any other seed I have seen opened up. Just can't figure out the change to white.

I've harvested seeds that were an off color, and turned a dull white when dry, they germinated just fine, If they are full and bounce like a DRY SEED, YOU SHOULD BE FINE

Try planting a few to see if they germinate. It may be the covering on the seeds coming off. A thin clear plastic like material.

did you rinse them in a solution of bleach and water? if so some times the outer area of the shell gets effected. no big deal usually.
dry um good, drop um on a wooden table for the bounce, test germinate six or so next month, as suggested earlier
