Can someone please e-mail me all the diffrent vine patterns with pictures and telling me why its a good one to grow in. And have all the 1500 plus growers grown in a Spider Pattern....??? It would be greatly appreciated. [email protected]

I would say 90 % grow in christmas tree pattern, one main and secondaries get progressively smaller, I also feel most grow in the 600 sq ft range or even less. I think spider is with more than one main which would be one pumpkin per main.

Two years ago a grower in Napa, California drew me a diagram of a "spider pattern." (That grower is Pete Glasier.) The secondary vines closest to the pumpkin (between the stump and the pumpkin) are trained to go in the same direction as the main vine around and past the pumpkin. They look like a spider. The theory is more growth will come from the secondaries before the fruit than the secondaries after the fruit. I hope this helps.
