I loaded my pumpkin for Stillwater and had several Brooks’s moments.

My trusty helper knocked the chain hoist off the scaffolding and it hit a clanking blow on the pumpkin.

Next my 2 ton chain hoist decided to let the pumpkin down on its own. Luckily I was able to hold on tight enough it let it down slowly.

When I loaded it into the back of my Toyota Tundra the front wheels lifted off the ground. What am I going to do???? Hope to see you in Stillwater

Bill, good to see you got it on in one piece, lol, Makes you lose about 10 yrs on your life dont it? ha! My hoist was doing that exact same thing lifting that 1019 I grew, I think why the hoist dont lock is because the hoist isnt at a straight up and down level or on some kind of bind and it wants to let itself down. I ended up putting a large screw in one of the legs in my tripod and would put a link through the screw so it would kinda lock it self from moving.(extra safty feature, lol)

Joe is the fool who organizes this chaos in stillwater and currently has a pumpkin on loan just so he doesnt look like a complete fool when all his pumpkin-growing comrades show up with the fruits of their labors.

The scale doesnt go low enough to register my biggest this year. ARGH.

Bill if that toyota isnt pulling a wheelie when you roll in tomorrow mornin you may as well turn it around. ha!

Minnesota State record should be short lived. But it should take A LOT more than that to win this one!
