Are grass clipping & leaves good for gardens?
what else is good and free?

yes and yes. make sure the grass wasn't treated with weed killer. coffee grounds, manure,peat moss, hay, straw, compost the list goes on and on. don't use walnut leaves.

as steze said don't use walnut leaves.....contains juglone that can adversly effect growth.....not sure about oak leaves????

Oak leaves are full of tannins and can lower the ph
