Farmers Almanac forecast predicts a warmer-than-normal winter in much of North America and below-average snowfalls... Don't know if this is good or bad, but we might have a little more time for fall prep.

AP Oil Rebounds on Consumption Prediction Tuesday October 9, 4:02 pm ET By John Wilen, AP Business Writer Crude Prices Jump After Government Estimates Global Demand for Oil Will Grow
NEW YORK (AP) -- Oil futures rose sharply Tuesday after the government predicted that a colder winter ahead will help lift worldwide demand for crude during the fourth quarter. In a monthly report, the Energy Department's Energy Information Administration estimated that global demand for oil will be 1.8 million barrels a day higher in the fourth quarter than it was during the same period last year. The report follows a prediction Thursday from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration that temperatures in the U.S. will be 1.3 percent colder than last year, although they'll be 2.8 percent warmer than average.

Here in central New York anything can happen with an La Nina winter. On the local news last night, La Nina in 1970-71 we got 186.5 inches of snow. La Nina in 1971-72 we got 151 inches of snow. The last La Nina in 2000-2001 we got 157 inches of snow. Myself, I would love to see a below normal snow fall.

mild winter? less snow and rain? combined with a drought type spring and summer in ri for 2007 means our wells and water supplies might need a boost next year
