In the year that the 1000 pound barrier was broke, how many pumpkins broke it, and how many broke it the following year?
and
There was the 1502, how many broke 1500 this year?

5 so far this year over 1500. expect more.
in 1996 there were 2 over 1000 (1061 & 1006). the year after, there were 4 over 1000, but those were all UOW or EXH. 977 was the heaviest officially that year.

justin i dont keep count but let me say this
it used to be that in competition if you weighed 1,000 pounds it was an amazing thing.
just as in other things in life we have progressed to a point where in 2006 1,500 was an amazing feat.
fast forward to 2007 and there were quite a few this year over 1.500 plus a 1,600 and almost a 1,700 pounder.
the bar has been raised again.
i do believe that its going to take a monumental effort for someone to break the jutras 1,689 pound WR.
stay tuned for 2008 . here we all come
