Thats cool but wouldnt it be more of a New Jersey record if someone that lived and grew actually in New Jersey beat the current record. So it wont actually be a New Jersey record it will just be a big pumpkin for show right??

Jason, if it is large enough, then it goes towards the state it was grown in, not where it was weighed. But most weigh-offs allow you to bring a pumpkin from anywhere to weigh it.

Grown in is what counts for the State Record. Unless you live on the four corners and you can roll the pumpkin around to acheive the State record. Ha

So are any of our Jersey growers planning on being there? I will be there whether I have a pumpkin or not ( i.e I just noticed a couple of soft spots on the stem today). I do believe that a competitor of mine has one that should topple the NJ state record.
